Residential Property

The definition of residential property is provided within the Conveyancing Act 1919 No 6 (Division 8).

Key Residential Property Facts

Residential Property under the Act is defined as land on which there are no more than two dwellings. It also includes vacant land on which a home could be built. A lot or lots within a strata scheme is also included within the definition.

The most common types of residential zonings across NSW include:

• R1 General Residential

• R2 Low Density Residential

• R3 Medium Density Residential

• R4 High Density Residential

• R5 Large Lot Residential
